FOLLOW YOUR INNER VOICE

Follow your inner voice - the quiet, guiding expression of your Higher Self. It is found in the heart, the home of the Divine Intelligence in your physical body. Your interior counsel is different from the directives of your ego. It is direct, calm and clear, and serves not only your own best interests butthe good of all persons. It does not flatter or condemn, and never tells you what to do. It only makes gentle suggestions that support your authentic path. It is your soul´s compass in this life, and it keeps you from becoming lost in the confusion of the world.

If I close my eyes and sit very still
It is so easy to listen to my song.
When my eyes are open and
I am so busy and moving and busy,
If I take time and listen very hard,

Connection to the Divine Spirit

Your inner voice is not a personal one, but is instead your private connection to the Divine Spirit we all share. It is available to guide you at all times. To connect to its wisdom, simply focus on your heart and listen.

In order to truly hear, you must first disengage from other voices. To begin with, stop soliciting opinions from others. It is perfectly fine to seek direction and support from all available resources, but in the end, let your Higher Self be your final and ultimate authority.

Do nothing before consulting your Inner Wisdom. To do this, quiet your mind and place your full attention on your heart. Be patient and allow it to speak.

Ask directly for guidance, then listen.

The Higher Self is subtle and does not interrupt your ego or the voices of the world. You therefore must tune out of external noise and the nagging words of your ego to hear its gentle direction. If you make this effort, you will always connect with your Source.

Listen to your inner voice with your entire being - with every cell in your body...

The ability to focus on this level is developed through regular periods of quiet reflection, contemplation, and prayer. Start with 5 mintes and gradually increase to 30 minutes a day. This becomes easier - more and more relaxing with practice.

OUR INNER VOICE

This is an excerpt of the Commencement address by Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, at Stanford University , delivered on June 12, 2005.

"...When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something..."

"...Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary..."

Do what you feel in your heart to be right- for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

Your Divine Wisdom

To know if the guidance you receive is indeed that of your Sacred Consciousness, consider how it affects you. Does it leave you feeling at ease with yourself? Peaceful? Rested? Your Essence has a naturally grounding and calming influence. It resonates as truth in every cell in your being.

No one can determine for you whether you are listening to your inner voice or your ego. Part of your soul´s work is to make that distinction on your own. However, we can offer clues to help you.

Your Divine Wisdom:

• - Affirms your spirit

• - Leaves you feeling confident

• - Eases your insecurities

• - Elicits your compassion and adoration for those around you

• - Encourages self-love and acceptance of yourself

• - Is honest

• - Inspires you to be more generous and corageous

If yo do not experience these things, your ego is playing tricks on you. Change the channel because you are tuned in to something that does not serve your soul.

When accessing your Inner Soul´s Light, you will face times when you must challenge or override the opinion of others. Do not be afraid. Trust your inner voice and follow it anyway. Doing so ultimately serves everyone .

You have been educated to ignore your Divine Intelligence to such a degree that for many of you, it is automatic and unthinkable to even question the information other people give you. Be mindful of this false indoctrination and pay keen attention to what and to whom you listen - and the power you give to these supposed authorities instead of to your Higher Self. You may not even be aware of how others´opinions silence your inner voice.
